A split air conditioner is an air conditioning system that consists of two independent units, a water-cooled condensing unit and an air handling unit. The air conditioning system of the independent unit is quieter because the condensing unit is not located in the air conditioning zone. The outdoor unit contains compressor and condenser components. The compressor condenses the refrigerant and circulates it through the outdoor unit, converting it from gas to liquid. The liquid is then extruded into the coil of the internal evaporator or the cooling chamber. The indoor unit fan circulates indoor air through the evaporator heat sink.
